Fed's Fisher says unemployment in U.S. is main worry, not inflation

BERLIN (Reuters) - Dallas Fed President Richard Fisher, a top U.S. Federal Reserve official, said on Tuesday he was not worried about inflation in the United States but about unemployment, and monetary policy was not enough to create jobs.

"Interest rates are the lowest in the history of the American Republic ... The question is what will stimulate businesses and put our people back into work," said Fisher, a critic of easy Fed policy.

He was speaking at a conference organized by the Levy Economics Institute in Berlin.
