Pavel Datsyuk inspired a mighty comeback by CSKA, which still wasn’t enough to overcome Aleksandr Ovechkin and his league-leading Dynamo Moscow in the biggest encounter on Game Week 13 in the KHL.

Datsyuk and Ovechkin went face to face for the first time in the Kontinental Hockey League on Friday.

And half-way through the first period, it was Alex the Gre8, who opened for Dynamo with a booming slapshot, 0-1.

And by the middle of the second, the Blue-and-Whites have added four more, with Marek Kvapil giving the visitors a 0-5 lead.

But it's far from over if you have a magician on your roster as Datsyuk fired the Armymen up for a comeback with a masterpiece of a goal.

Mikhail Grabovsky and Aleksandr Radulov added two more for CSKA before Datsyuk got a second to make it 4-5 three minutes from time.

CSKA fell one step short of producing a miracle, but Nicklas Backstrom clinched an empty-netter to grant Dynamo a hard-fought 4-6 win.

Evgeny Malkin also displayed great form in KHL’s Game Week 13, bagging a goal and three assists in Metallurg Marnitogorsk’s 7-4 thrashing of Spartak Moscow.

And Ilya Kovalchuk gave SKA an overtime win against Atlant Moscow region, escaping one-on-one with the goalie after a pass from Kevin Dallman, 4-3.

Aleksandr Korolyuk scored his 200th goal in the Russian league as his Vityaz side beat Barys 5-3 on the road.
