Berdyev sees M’Vila as Rubin’s future top player

Rubin’s new signing French international, Yann M'Vila, has everything to become the Kazan side’s top star, leading them to domestic and international glory, believes coach, Kurban Berdyev.

“I’m very happy that such a player as Yann M'Vila – the leading midfielder in the French league – will be playing for Rubin,”
Berdyev told Rubin’s official website. “Of course, he’ll help the team and his arrival will allow our team to find a new game and create an efficient squad capable of solving serious tasks not only in Russia, but in Europe as well.”

“Yann is still a young player, and I hope that with every year he’ll add to his game and will become a true leader of the team,”
 he added.

M'Vila’s €12-millon move from French side Rennes to Kazan has so far been the biggest transfer of the Russian Premier League winter break.

The 22-year-old has signed a 4 and a half year deal with Rubin with the salary of €3 million per season after tax.

The defensive midfielder has 22 caps and one goal for the French national team and was on the country’s squad at Euro 2012.

Last summer, Russian champions Zenit considered the player, but M’Vila decided not to go to Saint Petersburg after receiving threats from the club’s racist fans.
