Age of Austerity: Italy town rebels against Rome, wants own currency


13.09.2011. - Italy's much-disputed 54-billion-Euro austerity package to slash the country's crippling debt will go through a final debate at the lower house of Parliament on Monday. It would increase taxes and cut government spending to balance the budget by 2013. But constant changes to the plan and squabbling between lawmakers has damaged people's faith in it. And as Ivor Bennett reports, there's a town that's decided it doesn't want to wait for the cuts.
