Refuse to treated cancer as she could become a mother – Banja Luka, Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Jelena Trikić (†18 November 2012) is the name of the very special person. That is the name which should be mentioned in every home in the world, the name which should be spoken about from every preacher who preaches about Truth, the name which should be pray for in the every religion which believes in Love. This is the name which should become a symbol of True Love.



Jelena Trikić was thirty years old women who had a brain tumor for last 5 years. Despite of her illness she decide to listen to her heart which had great desire to split its love to another life and she gave a birth to healthy boy Nikola in the end of the October of 2012. In the order to protect the life and health of her child she quit with her therapy during the pregnancy.



After the birth Jelena said that she had great support from her husband. She also said: „I had a wish to see how it is to be a mother and I am very happy when I hold my child in the arms“ .


Doctor Slobodan Grahovac who has delivered her child said: “Her wish to have child is something unseen. Medicine says that no one with brain tumor can become pregnant. Jelena had proved that it is not like that and she sacrifice herself for her child. We all should support that and as doctors give the best as she could be as longer as possible with her boy.“


We all regret that it could not least for longer. But we do not regret as those who does not have hope. We know that this separation is temporary. And we know that Love can not die and we know that you would never leave your son with out of your care. You have proven it. If I ever have a daughter I am going to tell her about you as a person who had immensely love, whose love was so strong that you had defeated laws of nature by staying pregnant and not fearing of dying.


You have proven us that love can not be stopped by any barrier even if it is biology, death or time. You have shown us what is more important even than our life. You have shown us the meaning of the words „hope“, „faith“, „sacrifice“, „joy“ and „love“. Thank you.
